U.S. Pentagon Releases Declassified UFO Files to Public

The U.S. Department of Defense has declassified and posted a collection of unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) documents, videos and photographs on a new website, war.gov/UFO. The release includes historic files from various administrations, as well as a recent 99‑second infrared video recorded in 2024 by an Indo‑Pacific Command sensor that shows a single contrasting object tracked by the platform.

The Pentagon announced the archive will be updated periodically, emphasizing that while all files have been cleared for security, many have not yet been analyzed to determine the nature of the anomalies. The move follows a call for greater transparency by the Trump administration, which promised to make "very interesting" documents public. NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman praised the effort, noting the agency’s commitment to studying and sharing data on such phenomena.

The release provides researchers, Congress members and the public instant access to the declassified material without requiring special authorization.
