US Pentagon releases new batch of UFO documents revealing unexplained aerial phenomena

The U.S. Department of Defense publicly released a third tranche of declassified material on unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), often referred to as UFOs. The package contains 53 documents, 10 images, six video recordings and three audio clips contributed by agencies including the CIA, FBI, NASA and the Pentagon itself. Among the newly released material are eyewitness accounts of luminous orbs, a "plasma‑like sphere" that changed shape over a lake for 45 minutes, and a July 2025 incident where two bright red spheres were observed hovering in a homeowner’s yard.

Historical records from the 1950s CIA files are also included, noting that "flying saucers" were not deemed a direct threat but recommended to be downplayed publicly. The declassification effort follows an executive order signed by former President Donald Trump mandating unprecedented transparency on the topic. Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell emphasized that the process will continue, with additional files slated for release. The online repository for these documents has already logged over 1.7 billion accesses since its launch in May.
