US Pentagon Report Warns of Critical Missile Shortage Amid Iran Conflict

A leaked Pentagon assessment indicates that U.S. missile inventories for air‑defence systems such as Patriot and THAAD have been depleted by roughly 80% since the war with Iran entered its fifth month. European Command commander Alexus Grynkewich warned that the shortage could force the United States to prioritize defending the mainland over supporting Israel, as the navy lacks sufficient interceptor missiles for simultaneous operations.

The report also notes that the strain on U.S. naval assets has delayed maintenance of additional warships, reduced readiness, and contributed to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, affecting global energy shipments and trade routes.
