US political candidates Scott Wiener and James Talarico campaign in San Francisco and Texas

In San Francisco, State Senator Scott Wiener is campaigning for the congressional seat held by Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi. Facing opponent Connie Chan, Wiener has focused efforts on the west side of the city, including the Richmond District, as the election approaches and mail-in ballots are prepared for distribution in early October.

In Texas, Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico has been absent from in-person campaign events for several days. His campaign cited illness, specifically the flu, as the reason for canceling appearances in the Rio Grande Valley and at a grassroots fundraiser in Austin. Talarico is running against Republican candidate and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.
