US President Donald Trump makes over 22,000 stock trades in 2025
President Donald Trump, age 80, was reported to have executed more than 22,000 stock, cryptocurrency and other investment transactions during 2025, according to an analysis published by the Financial Times. The volume works out to over 60 trades per day and far surpasses the activity of his predecessor, Joe Biden, who logged just 13 transactions over his four‑year term, as well as Trump’s own 517 trades in his first term.
The White House says Trump's assets are managed by third parties, but the sheer number of trades has raised concerns about possible conflicts of interest. His market‑moving tariff announcements and statements on his platform Truth Social, such as calling it “a great time to buy,” were followed by a rapid Nasdaq rise of about 12 %. Around the same period, Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene bought shares of major firms including Apple and Amazon, adding to the scrutiny. Critics from Democratic lawmakers have called for investigations, though no evidence of insider trading has been presented.
Financial disclosures also show that Trump earned more than $1 billion from digital‑currency activities in the past year, including over $500 million from World Liberty Financial and $635 million from licensing deals with meme‑coin projects. His administration is pursuing a more crypto‑friendly regulatory stance, aiming to position the United States as a “Bitcoin superpower.”
