Trump to attend Spain-Argentina World Cup final in New Jersey

U.S. President Donald Trump has confirmed he will attend, joining FIFA President Gianni Infantino for the trophy presentation. Spain’s prime minister Pedro Sánchez also plans to be present at the match. The White House said Trump’s appearance will underscore the United States’ role in hosting the tournament. Infantino said, “We will be present at the final with the president, enjoy the game and, of course, present the cup to the winner.” Despite heavy smoke from Canadian forest fires reaching New York, organizers said there are no plans to relocate or postpone the final. The match is expected to draw unprecedented global viewership, and ticket prices have reached more than $75,000 for some seats.
