US public opinion shifts on Iran war and economic management
Recent polling indicates significant domestic dissatisfaction regarding the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. According to a survey by the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, approximately 69 percent of US adults believe the war in Iran has not been worth fighting, while 71 percent disapprove of President Trump’s handling of the situation.
The polls also highlight economic anxieties among the American public. Only 17 percent of respondents approve of the president's management of the cost of living, and approval for his overall handling of the economy has reached a new low of 26 percent. Concerns regarding food affordability and fuel costs have also risen.
Separately, an Our Republic/Rasmussen poll reveals complex views on the conflict's resolution. While 74 percent of likely voters hope for a US victory, 19 percent would accept a deal to end the war that involves dissolving the state of Israel in favor of a Palestinian nation, a figure that rises to 46 percent among voters aged 18-24. Additionally, 51 percent of voters attribute the start of the conflict to either the United States or Israel.
