US Representative references 17 November attacks in Greece at UN

During a United Nations Security Council session marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, US Permanent Representative Mike Waltz referenced the 17 November terrorist attacks in Greece. He included the Greek group in a global list of terrorist actions that have left lasting imprints on national memories, alongside incidents such as the Bataclan attacks in France and the Beslan school siege in Russia.

Waltz noted that while the Security Council often disagrees on various issues, the condemnation of terrorism remains one of the few areas of unanimous consensus. He emphasized that a common threat unites even the bitterest of enemies.

Furthermore, the US representative warned that the fight against terrorism is not over, as organizations increasingly adapt to modern technologies, including drones, artificial intelligence, encrypted communications, and digital financial tools.
