US rights groups mobilize to assist voters ahead of midterms

As the midterm elections approach, various advocacy groups are mobilizing nationwide to assist voters and protect election integrity. Organizations are addressing a range of potential barriers, including strict identification requirements, complex mail-in voting rules, and limited access to polling locations or drop boxes.

Groups such as Asian Americans Advancing Justice are providing assistance through hotlines to help voters navigate language access and registration. Meanwhile, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has reported a record $25.5 million investment in voter education, with over 67,000 new volunteers joining its People Power list to monitor polling places and educate the public on state-specific rules.

Other grassroots efforts, including training sessions by May Day Strong and mobilization by the Chicago Teachers Union, are focusing on preparing citizens to defend democratic processes and confront potential interference in election results.
