US Sanctions Iran’s Largest Crypto Exchange Nobitex and Three Others
On June 2, 2026 the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control placed four Iranian digital‑asset exchanges – Nobitex, Wallex, Bitpin and Ramzinex – on its sanctions list. The Treasury said the platforms are used to evade U.S. sanctions, finance terrorism and facilitate transactions for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Iranian central bank and ransomware operators. Executives of Nobitex, including two brothers from the Khrazi family and CEO Amir Hossein Rad, were also designated.
The action follows earlier U.S. measures that seized roughly $1 billion in cryptocurrency linked to Iranian exchanges and froze €293 million in USDT tied to the Iranian central bank. Nobitex, Iran’s largest crypto exchange, denied any direct government ties and said it would contest the sanctions.
