U.S. schools receive grants for AEDs and CPR training

The Iredell Health Foundation donated $24,000 to Iredell‑Statesville Schools in North Carolina, enabling the purchase of 16 new automated external defibrillators (AEDs) for 16 district sites. The devices replace units over three decades old and will protect roughly 10,000 students and 1,000 staff members.

Separately, the American Heart Association awarded a CPR in Schools grant to Great Northern Elementary in Spokane, Washington. The grant provides a reusable CPR kit with training materials in English and Spanish, teaching students, staff and families how to perform CPR and use an AED. Both initiatives aim to improve cardiac emergency preparedness in U.S. schools.
