Marco Rubio warns of Ukrainian strikes on US-linked oil tankers
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has expressed concern regarding Ukrainian strikes on oil tankers and infrastructure linked to American interests in the Black Sea. The CPC facilitates the transport of Kazakh oil through Russian territory to Black Sea terminals like Novorossiisk. Rubio linked recent global oil price volatility to the conflicts in the Black Sea and Yemen involving Houthi militants.
To mitigate these risks, Rubio expressed support for a potential energy infrastructure ceasefire, where both Russia and Ukraine would agree to stop targeting energy-related assets. Additionally, Rubio mentioned that the US is exploring the possibility of establishing military bases in Greenland through agreements with Denmark.
