US Senate Approves $70 B Immigration Enforcement Funding Bill for Trump

The United States Senate approved a $70 billion appropriations package to fund immigration enforcement agencies, including ICE and the Border Patrol, for the remainder of President Donald Trump's term. The measure passed after a marathon voting session on multiple amendments that highlighted intra‑party divisions among Republicans on various Trump‑related proposals.

The bill now moves to the House of Representatives, where Republican leaders plan to address it early next week before sending it to the president for signature. The funding comes amid a partial shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security earlier this year and ongoing disputes over immigration policy and related budgetary demands.

The legislation also addressed contentious items such as a proposed “anti‑politicization” fund and unrelated spending for a White House ballroom, which were ultimately excluded from the final text.
