US Senate Primaries in Michigan, Kansas, Missouri, Virginia, Washington

Primaries are scheduled for tomorrow in five states—Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Virginia and Washington. The most closely watched race is the Democratic Senate primary in Michigan, where former state health official Abdul El‑Sayed holds a double‑digit lead over Rep. Haley Stevens, who has shifted her messaging toward general‑election electability.

Other contests include a competitive Democratic Senate primary in Kansas, a GOP gubernatorial primary in Michigan, and gubernatorial primaries in both parties in Kansas. In Missouri, Republicans are pushing Amendment 4, a measure that would make it harder for citizen‑initiated ballot initiatives to qualify. Virginia’s Democratic governor announced the restoration of voting rights for more than 66,000 people who have completed their sentences.
