U.S. soldier families seek answers after deadly Iranian drone strike
Families of U.S. service members are struggling to cope months after a deadly Iranian drone attack at Port Shuaiba, a civilian port and oil refinery in Kuwait. The strike, occurring on March 1, remains the deadliest confirmed attack on U.S. troops during Operation Epic Fury.
Among the casualties was Sgt. 1st Class Noah Tietjens, an Army reservist from Nebraska. The attack followed airstrikes by the United States and Israel on Iranian nuclear sites, which marked the beginning of the war on February 28.
Families of the deceased and wounded have expressed frustration over unanswered questions regarding the March 1 incident. The U.S. Army has declined to comment on specific reporting, stating it has not yet briefed the families on the outcome of the strike.
