US State Department backs Trump's comments on France migration
The US State Department has expressed support for President Donald Trump’s recent criticisms regarding migration and unrest in France. State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott stated that the president is ‘spot on’ in his assessment, adding that mass migration is ‘inherently destabilizing’ and creates more problems than it solves.
This stance follows comments from French President Emmanuel Macron, who described remarks by foreign leaders about French riots as ‘unacceptable and stupid.’ Macron accused certain leaders of using France for their own political campaigns and cited the influence of ‘foreign manipulation of information,’ including AI-generated images that depict scenes that did not occur.
During a recent rally, Trump claimed that migrants have taken over France, describing the country as a ‘once great nation’ being ‘looted and burned to the ground by migrants, jihadists and communists.’ While Macron rejected claims of an invasion by ‘hordes of migrants and Islamists,’ the State Department indicated it will oppose international institutions that attempt to impose migration agendas on sovereign nations.
