U.S. State Department revokes over 250,000 visas
The U.S. Department of State has revoked more than 250,000 visas since Donald Trump returned to office, according to administration officials. The revocations target foreign nationals who violated visa terms, committed crimes, engaged in fraud, or posed threats to national security.
Among the revoked documents are 2,300 visas linked to birth tourism. State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott described the figure as a “historic milestone” reflecting the security policies of President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Separately, a federal judge in Massachusetts has ordered the Trump administration to provide arguments by October 9 regarding proposed restrictions on student (F and J) and journalist (I) visas. Judge Dennis Saylor previously paused these rules, describing the administration's justification for the changes as “exceptionally weak.”
