U.S. State Wildlife Grants and BC Parks Foundation fund projects

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced the disbursement of more than $57 million through the State Wildlife Grants program to state, territorial and District of Columbia agencies. The funds support conservation actions for species identified as greatest conservation need, including Boreal Toad recovery in Utah, Guadalupe Bass restoration in Texas, Greater Sage‑Grouse habitat work in South Dakota and freshwater mussel projects in Kentucky. Grants also cover research, surveys and habitat management, contributing to the outdoor recreation economy that supports millions of jobs.

In Canada, the BC Parks Foundation reported a record number of applications for its grant program, which seeks to make parks and natural areas more accessible to underserved communities by helping address physical and invisible barriers to outdoor participation.
