US tech billionaires dominate global wealth rankings as Arnault exits top ten

For the first time since the Bloomberg Billionaires Index was launched in 2012, the top ten wealthiest individuals in the world are all from the United States. This shift follows the exit of LVMH chairman Bernard Arnault from the top ten list.

Arnault’s net worth fell to $143 billion, placing him behind Warren Buffett. His wealth has decreased by approximately $65 billion since the beginning of the year, marking the largest decline among the world's 500 richest people. This downturn is attributed to reduced demand for luxury brands like Dior, Louis Vuitton, and Tiffany due to conflicts in the Middle East, as well as trademark disputes affecting sales in China.

In contrast, US technology billionaires continue to dominate the rankings. Elon Musk leads the list with a net worth of $918.8 billion, followed by industry leaders including Larry Page, Jeff Bezos, Sergey Brin, and Michael Dell. The surge in US tech wealth is largely driven by the rise of artificial intelligence and the growth of the S&P 500.
