Nvidia tops US‑dominated top‑100 firms; Germany reduced to Siemens

In the first half of 2026 the 100 most valuable publicly listed companies worldwide increased their combined market value by about 18 %, reaching roughly $62 trillion. The surge is driven by artificial‑intelligence‑related growth, with technology firms posting a 30 % rise in valuation. Nvidia leads the ranking with a market cap of about $4.8 trillion, followed by Alphabet ($4.3 trillion) and Apple ($4.2 trillion). SpaceX entered the top ten after its recent record IPO.

U.S. companies dominate the list, accounting for 56 of the 100 firms. China is represented by twelve companies, while the United Kingdom and Japan each have five. Europe’s share has fallen to 16 firms; Germany now has only Siemens (rank 72) in the top‑100, with former giants SAP and Allianz dropping out. The shift reflects investors rewarding firms involved in AI infrastructure and related technologies.

Analysts at EY note that the AI boom has reshaped capital‑market dynamics, rewarding firms that can supply hardware, cloud platforms and AI services. The concentration of value in the United States and select Asian economies underscores a growing divergence between the leading AI‑driven companies and traditional industrial exporters.
