US Tempio President Salvatore Sechi Resigns After Five Years

Salvatore Sechi announced his departure as president of US Tempio, ending a five‑year tenure marked by disputes over the club’s facilities and ownership. In his farewell address he criticised prolonged delays caused by rejected acquisition proposals for the club’s shares and the title of the regional Eccellenza league, describing the negotiations as “unacceptable”. Sechi also highlighted ongoing problems with the Manconi stadium, noting that the municipality only granted provisional access on short notice, leaving the team without reliable training grounds.

He passed the responsibility for the club to the town’s mayor, Gianna Masucci, urging her to find a new investor willing to take over the society. Sechi’s resignation follows a period of tension with local officials and a strained relationship with the municipal administration during his time in charge.
