US Treasury sanctions nine entities tied to Iran's weapons procurement

The U.S. Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced sanctions on nine individuals and companies for facilitating weapons procurement for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics. The designations cover actors operating in Iran, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, including a firm that manufactures engines for Shahed‑series drones, as well as Chinese nationals and companies based in Hong Kong and Shanghai.

The sanctions are part of the Treasury’s “Economic Fury” campaign aimed at curbing Iran’s access to military technology through international supply chains. The measures add the listed parties to the Specially Designated Nationals list, prohibiting U.S. persons from dealing with them and signaling continued maximum‑pressure pressure on Tehran’s defence programs.
