Tesouro Direto records record July sales of R$ 11.67 billion

Tesouro Direto recorded its highest sales volume for the month of July in history, totaling R$ 11.67 billion. This performance represents a 60.65% increase compared to July of the previous year. The growth was significantly driven by interest in titles linked to the Selic rate, which accounted for 51.2% of total sales, and the new Tesouro Reserva title, which contributed R$ 1.79 billion (15.3% of sales).

By the end of July, the total stock of Tesouro Direto reached R$ 272.26 billion, a 3.73% increase from June. The number of registered investors in the program has risen to 36,124,180. The high demand for Selic-linked titles is attributed to the current interest rate of 14% per year.

Additionally, the Tesouro Nacional revised its Annual Financing Plan (PAF), indicating that by 2026, between 49% and 53% of the Federal Public Debt could be corrected by the Selic rate. This revision also suggests a decrease in the proportion of fixed-rate and inflation-indexed titles within the debt composition.
