US Tribal Gaming Revenue Hits Record $46.2 Billion in FY2025

The National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) reported that tribal casinos generated a record $46.2 billion in gross gaming revenue for fiscal year 2025 (October 2024 – September 2025), a 5.3 % increase over the prior year and adding more than $2.3 billion to the industry's bottom line. The figure reflects audited results from 545 gaming operations owned by 246 federally recognized tribes across 29 states.

Regional growth included the Portland market (Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Alaska) reaching $4.9 billion, up 4 %; California remaining the largest market at $12.6 billion, also up over 4 %; the “DC” market (New York, Connecticut, North Carolina, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana) climbing to $11.2 billion with nearly a 10 % jump; and the St. Paul market (Midwest states) rising to $5.3 billion, up 2 %.

NIGC Vice‑Chair Billy Kirkland said, “Indian gaming is an important contributor to tribal economies that empowers sovereign tribal governments to invest in their communities and provide their citizens with essential services.” Revenues support tribal health care, education, housing, public safety, infrastructure, elder services and cultural preservation, reinforcing gaming as a key engine of economic sovereignty for Indian Country.
