US Vice President Vance targets Iran nuclear ambitions and energy security

United States Vice President JD Vance has reaffirmed that preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons remains a primary objective of American presence in the Middle East. Speaking to Newsmax, Vance emphasized that Washington is utilizing a wide range of tools, including economic pressure, to counter Tehran. He specifically addressed threats to global energy markets, stating that the U.S. will not allow Iran to choke oil and gas trade.

Vance noted that while Iran has attempted to disrupt shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. has successfully maintained energy flows, managing between 7 and 15 million barrels of oil per day. He asserted that Iran lacks the capability to completely sever international trade routes, which limits its leverage against the international community.
