U.S. visa revocations spark legal action for Mexican citizens
Reports are emerging from the U.S.-Mexico border regarding the mass revocation of visas and residency documents. Immigration attorney Arturo Vázquez is collecting cases of individuals who claim their visas were withdrawn after traveling to the United States to donate plasma or for reasons related to childbirth in U.S. hospitals.
In Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, many women have expressed concern after reporting that their visas were confiscated or destroyed at international bridges after they gave birth in El Paso, Texas. Vázquez is compiling a confidential list of affected individuals to support a legal challenge.
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) plans to file a lawsuit in federal court, seeking a judicial determination that these measures are unconstitutional. The legal action aims to secure an injunction to stop the revocations and request that the State Department reinstate the canceled visas without requiring new applications or additional fees.
