US voters favor Democrats in polls as federal officials report voter fraud arrests

A recent NPR/PBS News/Marist poll indicates that Democrats hold a 12-point advantage among registered voters regarding congressional elections. The survey suggests voters favor Democrats on issues such as the economy, gas prices, and foreign policy. President Trump’s approval rating has reached a low of 39%, with 53% expressing strong disapproval. A plurality of voters (45%) stated their choice for Congress is a vote against the president.

In a separate development regarding election integrity, the Department of Justice and Homeland Security reported that federal efforts to identify noncitizen voting have resulted in approximately 1,600 cases and 160 arrests. Acting Deputy Attorney General Trent McCotter noted that 70 people have been charged with unlawful voting and registration offenses since the start of the administration. Experts noted that these figures represent a very small fraction of the nation's 200 million active registered voters, countering previous claims of widespread noncitizen voting.
