US voters favor Democrats on key issues amid widespread party distrust

An AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll indicates that voters are increasingly favoring Democrats on critical issues such as the cost of living and healthcare heading into the midterm elections. Specifically, 38% of registered voters believe Democrats are better equipped to handle costs, compared to 27% for Republicans.

Despite these gains for Democrats, the survey reveals widespread cynicism toward the political system. Few registered voters believe either the Democratic or Republican parties are capable of solving major national problems or effectively helping Americans. While frustration with President Donald Trump and the Republican Party is growing, voters also appear skeptical that Democrats possess long-term solutions for the country’s challenges.
