US voters prioritize cost of living and ending Iran war
According to an AP-NORC poll, American voters across both major political parties are prioritizing economic relief and foreign policy shifts for the next Congress. Approximately 80% of registered voters identified reducing the cost of living as a top priority, while roughly 70% expressed a desire for Congress to focus on ending the conflict in Iran.
In contrast, only 40% of voters believe investigations into the Trump administration should be a priority, and just 20% want the legislature to focus on supporting President Trump’s specific agenda. Other concerns, such as reducing the budget deficit and regulating artificial intelligence, were noted as secondary priorities.
Internal party dynamics show significant ideological divides. Democratic Socialists largely favor investigating the Trump administration and ending military aid to Israel. Among Republicans, those identifying with the MAGA movement are more likely to prioritize supporting the President's agenda compared to other members of the party.
