U.S. weather forecast predicts warmer-than-average fall temperatures

The NOAA Climate Prediction Center has released its fall temperature outlook for the United States, suggesting that warmer-than-average temperatures may persist through November. The forecast indicates that nearly the entire country, excluding parts of the Ohio Valley, could experience above-average temperatures from September through November.

Specific regions expected to see above-normal temperatures include Alaska, the western and central contiguous United States, the Great Lakes, the Northeast, the mid-Atlantic, Florida, and coastal areas of the Southeast and Gulf. Meteorologists from AccuWeather note that September may feel like an extension of summer, particularly in the mid-Atlantic and southeastern U.S., due to high humidity and warm nights.

Experts identify a strengthening El Niño as the primary driver for this season's weather patterns. While warmer temperatures are expected, meteorologists noted that cold snaps remain a possibility during the autumn months.
