US wholesale electricity price falls to 120.43 €/MWh on July 29

On July 29 the wholesale electricity price in the US market was recorded at 120.43 €/MWh, a drop of about 3 €/MWh from the previous day. Prices remained above 100 €/MWh in the early morning, reaching a peak of 171.17 €/MWh between 00:00 and 01:00. After 10:00 a.m. the price declined sharply, with the cheapest period occurring between 13:00 and 14:00 when the price fell to roughly 3 €/MWh and stayed below 4 €/MWh until around 16:00. This low‑cost window is recommended for high‑consumption household tasks such as running washing machines, dishwashers, or charging electric vehicles. The published figures do not reflect the final consumer bill, which also includes taxes, fees and network charges, and will be confirmed when Red Eléctrica releases the official data.
