USA Basketball announces roster for 2027 World Cup Qualifiers

USA Basketball has announced its 12-man roster for the upcoming FIBA Men’s World Cup 2027 Qualifying Window. The squad, which features significant EuroLeague experience, will face Chile in Santiago on August 27 and host Colombia in Washington, D.C., on August 31.

Leading the roster is 36-year-old Mike James, the EuroLeague MVP and all-time leading scorer, alongside Jaron Blossomgame. The selection emphasizes international pedigree, with many players having experience in the NBA, NBA G League, or top-tier overseas leagues. Other notable players include James Nunnally, Orlando Robinson, Cole Swider, Dillon Jones, and Tyler Smith.

Former NBA head coach Terry Stotts will lead the team for his first USA Basketball coaching assignment. The United States currently holds a 5–1 record in the qualifying windows, maintaining a comfortable position in Group E as they work toward securing a berth for the 2027 tournament.
