USA Network orders Rome-set medical drama ‘Diplomatic Immunity’

USA Network has issued a straight-to-series order for ‘Diplomatic Immunity’, an hour-long medical drama set in Rome. The series is produced by Fox Entertainment Studios, with Fox Entertainment Global managing international distribution.

Written by and executive produced by Matt Corman and Chris Ord, the show follows a young American doctor assigned to the medical office at the U.S. Embassy in Rome. The plot involves the protagonist navigating complex medical cases, geopolitical situations, and government personalities alongside his personal life in a new country.

This project marks a return to USA Network for Corman and Ord, who previously served as creators for the series ‘Covert Affairs’. The network, which is owned by the media group Versant, is currently working to expand its original scripted content lineup.
