USA Women's Rugby to face Italy in WXV Series match in Texas

The USA Women’s Eagles will face Italy in a WXV Global Series match at Texas Health Stadium in Mansfield on October 17. The United States enters the contest with a three-match winning streak and currently holds the sixth position in the world rankings.

Statistical trends highlight a strong forward pack for the USA, which has scored nine of its ten recent tries through forwards. The American side has also demonstrated high efficiency in set pieces, maintaining 25 of 26 lineouts and all 18 scrums in their previous matches. Italy, ranked eighth, seeks to counter this strength after a tournament start that included a win against Japan and a loss to South Africa.

For Italy, the match features notable debuts and returns. Mascia Jelic is set to start at number 7, while Silvia Fent may debut from the bench. The Italian squad relies on experienced players like Elisa Giordano and Giordana Duca to manage the physical challenge posed by the American forwards.
