Usain Bolt celebrates 40th birthday and football debut

Jamaican sprinting legend Usain Bolt is celebrating his 40th birthday. The former world record holder, known as the ‘son of the wind’, retired from professional athletics in 2017, leaving behind a legacy that includes eight Olympic gold medals and eleven World Championship titles.

Bolt’s historic marks in the 100m (9.58 seconds), 200m (19.19 seconds), and 4x100m relay (36.84 seconds) remain unbroken. His career was marked by extraordinary feats, such as his performance at the 2009 Berlin World Championships, where he reached a top speed of 44.72 kilometers per hour.

In addition to his track achievements, Bolt is pursuing a long-held passion for football. He has been officially registered with Wythenshawe FC Veterans, a Sunday league team in Manchester, England. Competing in the Cheshire Veterans Football League, Bolt will join a squad featuring several former Premier League players, including Antonio Valencia and Emile Heskey.
