USB Type-C rechargeable 9V lithium-ion batteries

New lithium-ion 9V (006P) rechargeable batteries are becoming available that can be charged via USB Type-C, offering a convenient alternative to traditional alkaline batteries or nickel-metal hydride options that require dedicated chargers.

There are two primary types of these lithium-ion 9V batteries on the market. The first type includes internal circuitry to maintain a consistent 9V output, ensuring compatibility with devices like infrared thermometers and testers, though the circuitry may introduce some electrical noise. The second type consists of two cells in series, providing a lower voltage (typically 7.4V to 8.4V), which reduces noise but may cause instability in voltage-sensitive equipment. The ENEGON flagship model is an example of the constant 9V output type.
