US‑backed Gaza Police Training and Reconstruction Plan Announced

A plan to train about 5,000 Palestinians for a new Gaza police force has been disclosed, with security vetting carried out under the supervision of an international stabilization unit and U.S. support. U.S. officials also announced that former President Donald Trump’s administration has a “bold and ambitious” reconstruction strategy for Gaza, citing progress in aid delivery and simplified procedures. The U.S. State Department reiterated its condemnation of violence in the West Bank and emphasized that stability there is essential for Israel’s security, linking the reconstruction effort to broader regional peace initiatives.
