USC Trojans freshmen show significant progress during fall camp

Several USC Trojans freshmen have demonstrated significant progress during fall camp, showing potential to impact both the defensive and offensive units.

On the defensive side, five players from the 2026 class have stood out: linebacker Talanoa Ili, defensive end Luke Wafle, safety Madden Riordan, cornerback Elbert “Rock” Hill, and defensive lineman Tomuhini Topui. Ili has been noted for his versatility as both an off-ball linebacker and a rusher, while Wafle, a highly-rated defensive end, has impressed coaches with his professional approach and advanced skillset.

Offensively, several freshmen are seeing increased stock ahead of the season opener against San José State. Wide receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt has provided an explosive vertical threat for quarterback Jayden Maiava, while Trent Mosley continues to show high-level performance following his success in high school. Mosley is noted for his speed and body control, positioning him as a dynamic weapon in the receiving rotation.
