USC Verdugo Hills Hospital Hosts Healthcare Day for Bovard Scholars

On July 29, 2026, USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, part of Keck Medicine of USC, welcomed eight USC Bovard Scholars for a "Healthcare Day of Discovery." The high‑school seniors, representing California, Texas, Colorado, Arizona, Florida and Tennessee, rotated through hands‑on stations covering clinical care, patient handling, vital‑sign assessment, vascular ultrasound and stroke education.

Armand Dorian, MD, MMM, CEO of the hospital, said the event "opens doors and expands possibilities" by connecting students with physicians, nurses and staff. Student Barbara Baeza of Dickinson, Texas, noted she learned about many healthcare disciplines she had not considered before and was impressed by the teamwork across specialties.
