Mattia Viti signs permanent deal with Sampdoria

Italian defender Mattia Viti (born 24 January 2002) has completed a permanent transfer to U.C. Sampdoria. The club announced the acquisition of his sporting rights from O.C. Nice on a contract running until 30 June 2030, reportedly for a fee of €250,000.

Viti, a product of Empoli’s youth system who later featured for Italy’s youth national teams, returned to Italy after loan spells at Sassuolo, Empoli and Fiorentina. Since joining Sampdoria in January, he made 16 starts and quickly earned the trust of the squad. CEO Jesper Fredberg praised Viti as “fully aligned with our style of play, deeply linked to the colours and ready to embrace an ambitious long‑term project.”

The signing is presented as a key defensive reinforcement for head coach Bernardo Corradi as Sampdoria rebuilds its roster for the upcoming season.
