USEBEQ prepares for school start amid Querétaro construction

Irene Quintanar Mejía, coordinator of the Unit of Services for Basic Education in the State of Querétaro (USEBEQ), stated that there are currently no expected disruptions to the start of the school year due to construction on Bernardo Quintana. The works, which include projects related to the Mexico-Queretaro Train, are reportedly progressing favorably and are projected to conclude before classes begin on August 31.

Despite the positive progress, USEBEQ is preparing contingency strategies to ensure a smooth return to school if infrastructure works or road impacts are not resolved in time. These strategies aim to mitigate effects on student learning and the transportation of students, teachers, and families. USEBEQ is coordinating with the Ministry of Government and municipal authorities to monitor progress and will meet next week to analyze specific alternatives for schools in the construction zones and those affected by traffic changes.
