Used car sales decline amid rising costs

The used car market has experienced a significant decline in sales due to rising vehicle prices and increased costs associated with imports, registration, and transport. These rising expenses are placing a heavier burden on household budgets, deterring potential buyers.

Nenad Vlahović, an auto dealer owner in Podgorica, noted that sales have dropped significantly as prices for everything from state levies to transport have increased. Additionally, reduced credit availability and pressure on wages have contributed to the downturn.

Currently, the most sought-after vehicles are priced between 5,000 and 10,000 euros, with Volkswagen and newer Citroen models being particularly popular. There is also a growing trend in demand for vehicles with smaller engine capacities.
