Used electric vehicle prices fall amid rising supply
The market for used electric vehicles is expanding as sales of new electric models rise. Experts note that the supply of second-hand electric cars is increasing, which is driving resale prices downward.
Flavien Neuvy, director of the Cetelem Automobile Observatory, explains that the increase in supply is forcing prices to adapt. This trend is partly due to the influx of vehicles that were first put on the road two or three years ago.
Technological advancements are also impacting value. Older used models often feature less efficient battery range and slower charging speeds compared to newer technology. Additionally, the entry of Chinese manufacturers offering higher autonomy is further suppressing resale prices for older electric vehicles.
