Usedomer Musikfestival 2026 celebrates Swedish musical heritage
The 33rd Usedomer Musikfestival begins on September 19 and runs until October 10, 2026. This year’s edition focuses on Swedish music and culture, celebrating the historical ties between the island of Usedom and Sweden, which held the territory from 1648 to 1720. The festival also marks 75 years of diplomatic relations between Germany and Sweden.
The program includes approximately 30 events featuring around 700 artists, spanning classical, folk, jazz, and pop music. Key highlights include a concert by the Baltic Sea Philharmonic at the Peenemünde Power Plant and an ABBA tribute concert in Heringsdorf and Świnoujście. The latter will feature the Swedish barbershop quartet Lemon Squeezy, celebrating the 80th birthday of ABBA co-founder Benny Andersson.
Events will take place across the island on both the German and Polish sides, including locations such as Świnoujście, fostering cross-border cultural connection.
