Usha Vance discusses Secret Service detail for newborn son
Second Lady Usha Vance has commented on the Secret Service protection assigned to her newborn son, Alec. In an interview with the Daily Wire, she described the dedicated detail as 'sort of an absurdity' because the infant, born in July, remains constantly by her side. Alec is noted as the first child born to a sitting vice president in more than 150 years.
Separately, Usha Vance attended a high-profile state dinner at the White House hosted by President Donald Trump for Chinese President Xi Jinping. During the diplomatic event in the East Room, she wore a custom gold strapless column gown by Oscar de la Renta.
