Ushongo LGA endorses Benue Governor Hyacinth Alia for 2027 re-election

Community leaders and political stakeholders in the Ushongo Local Government Area of Benue State have formally declared their support for Governor Hyacinth Alia to seek a second term in the 2027 gubernatorial elections.

The endorsement occurred during a thanksgiving service and reception in Kartyo-Lobi held in honor of Professor Gabriel Ngbea, a newly appointed member of the Federal Civil Service Commission. Supporters argued that sustained leadership is necessary to address systemic issues such as insecurity, unemployment, infrastructural decay, and the deficit of basic amenities.

Governor Alia responded by reiterating his commitment to inclusive governance, stating that his reformation project aims to allow all citizens to contribute to state development regardless of wealth or social status. He also urged political supporters to engage in peaceful, issue-based campaigning and to avoid divisive rhetoric or the vilification of opponents.
