Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego coordinate urban development
The Government of Tierra del Fuego and the Municipality of Ushuaia are coordinating technical work to address urban development and essential services. A primary focus of these meetings is the urban and cadastral regularization of informal settlements to facilitate the expansion of basic services.
Key areas of cooperation include improving electrical infrastructure, which requires defined street layouts and consolidated paths to allow for the installation of poles and medium-voltage networks. The agenda also covers environmental management, specifically regarding solid waste management, the local sanitary landfill, and the asphalt production plant.
Officials, including Energy Minister Gabriela Castillo and Municipal Chief of Staff Yésica Garay, emphasized that this institutional coordination aims to optimize resources and provide direct solutions to community needs through sustainable urban planning.
