Dominican Republic authorities seize US$600,000 and increase law enforcement operations

In the Dominican Republic, customs authorities at Las Américas International Airport (AILA) seized over US$600,000 and Colombian pesos from a Colombian national attempting to travel to Panama without declaring the funds. Additionally, the Dominican government is addressing labor issues, with the Minister of Labor stating that the culture of child labor is being overcome through increased inspections and social support programs.

Law enforcement in the Dominican Republic has also intensified road safety operations. Authorities from INTRANT and DIGESETT conducted inspections in Greater Santo Domingo and along the Duarte Highway, resulting in the detention of 54 vehicles, including heavy trucks and motorcycles, for various traffic violations. Meanwhile, police in the Colonial Zone prevented a social media filming activity due to a lack of required permits.
