Ushuaia celebrates 142nd anniversary with civic parade and sports tournament

The city of Ushuaia marked its 142nd anniversary with a series of community events focused on identity and sovereignty. A large-scale civic-military parade took place on Maipú Avenue, featuring more than 150 institutions, including local residents, security forces, and various community organizations.

In conjunction with the anniversary celebrations, the city hosted the “142° Aniversario de Ushuaia” swimming tournament. As part of the fourth stage of the Patagonian Austral Swimming Circuit, the event brought together over 200 swimmers from various parts of Patagonia and Chile. The competition, held at the “Héroes de Malvinas” sports complex, included 28 daily events across disciplines such as freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly.
