Ushuaia commemorates 35th anniversary of Croatian independence

The Municipality of Ushuaia participated in a commemorative ceremony at Plaza Croacia to mark the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Croatia. The event was organized by the “Croatas en Argentina” community in Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego.

Local officials, including Secretary of Parliamentary Relations Omar Becerra and Secretary of Tourism Viviana Manfredotti, attended the ceremony alongside members of the Armed Forces and local residents. During the event, officials highlighted the historical significance of the moment the Croatian Parliament severed ties with Yugoslavia to achieve freedom.

Speakers emphasized the vital role the Croatian community has played in the development and multicultural identity of Ushuaia. Community members also reflected on the heritage, customs, and values brought by ancestors who settled in the region.
